Abbey Window Cleaning is a family-run business based in the City of Chester.

Established in 1981, we have over 40 Years experience and are specialists in a wide variety of commercial, residential and industrial external cleaning.

We take great pride in our work, are always investing in ourselves and our equipment and are truly passionate about what we do.

Our aim over the last five decades has always been to offer the professionalism of a large company whilst maintaining the hands-on, friendly approach of a small, local business.

Our carefully chosen team are all from the Chester area, friendly and knowledgeable but more importantly honest and hardworking!

Mental health is very important to our company and all of our team have an ‘employment assistance programme’ providing free counselling and support and benefits to ensure our workplace is an enjoyable place to be. We also carry out regular training and “toolbox talks” to make sure we’re up to date with health and safety and doing things “the right way”.

We understand having your windows cleaned is a luxury service so we strive to deliver the professional, reliable standards set by our excellent reputation.

We are very proud members of The Federation of Window Cleaners and were shortlisted for Window Cleaning Company of the Year in 2023.

We have been recognised as ‘Best Business of 2024, 2023, 2022 and 2021′ in Chester by the independent body, Three Best Rated and are proud to have won ‘Best window cleaning service in Cheshire’ for 2023 and ‘Best cleaning company in Chester’ in 2022 at the UK and Northern Enterprise Awards.
We’ve also won titles at the Quality Business Awards and Innovation & Excellence Awards. We’re also registered with The Window Cleaning Alliance.

Company director Nic came fourth in the Window Cleaning World Cup in 2024! He’s a qualified first aider and all our team are highly trained and competent with health and safety, HSE and the safety at work act.

We are fully insured for your peace of mind and hold certification with IOSH, IPAF, PASMA, Qualsafe and BSIF.

When we say family business we mean it!

Owner and operator Nic has been in and around the business since his teens and dad Terry founded the company in 1981.

Over the years Nic’s brother, nephew and brother-in-laws have all been a part of the team.

Nic

Company director Nic has been in window cleaning all his life!

Growing up around the family business, Nic started by cleaning the company vehicles and collecting money from customers after school.

After joining the team full time and a decade of mastering the art of a squeegee, Nic took over the business in 2017.
He is very approachable, is passionate about delivering a first-class service to our customers and loves to keep up to date with the latest industry technology and equipment.

Nic competed in the 2024 Window Cleaning World Cup where he secured fourth place! He’s now in training to take on ‘Turbo’ Terry Burrows for The Guinness World Record of “World’s Fastest Window Cleaner”.

When he’s not working on the business Nic enjoys watching films, collecting memorabilia from his childhood and spending quality time with his two sons, Max and Teddy.

Nathan

Nathan is positive, hardworking and very thorough. He’s also our Mental Health First Aider!

He strives to deliver the best service possible to our customers and takes great pride in his work. Nathan enjoys working with our water-fed pole systems but is always looking to learn and progress within all areas of our business and coming up with fresh ideas.

In his spare time Nathan enjoys training at the gym, going to the cinema and out for meals, listening to podcasts (talksport is his favourite during work!) and spending time with friends and family alongside his girlfriend Eve and their dog Frankie.

Terry

Terry founded Abbey Window Cleaning back in 1981.

Over the last five decades he has seen the industry change from cleaning with scrims and squeegees to the new, safer, water-fed pole technology that leads the industry today.

Terry still helps out and enjoys working with traditional tools for our commercial customers.

In his spare time Terry enjoys travelling the country to watch his beloved Arsenal football club and spending time with wife Lesley and their grandchildren.

Alfie

Alfie is Nic’s nephew and Terry’s grandson making him the first, third-generation Milner in the window cleaning industry!

Alfie enjoys cleaning windows with our water-fed pole technology but has experience with all of the services we offer. He is very polite and our customers think a lot of him. He currently helps out part-time whilst studying at college.

In his spare time, Alfie enjoys working out at the gym, socialising with his friends and playing video games.
